Boundaries and Granola

What a great week! Life is great, so sing about it! I worked with several students this week and met some fun people in the community. Two fun things about this week: 1. One student I worked with had a dome light in their ghetto car that felt like a street lamp was shining inside! Seriously had to wear the sunglasses.  2. Larry Carter took us to eat at an Italian place where we got a free concert from one of the guys that works there.  You know the feeling you get when you've been on your feet all day doing dishes, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, organizing, etc. then you sit down for that first time after 4 hours? I didn't do all that today, but that's the feeling I get when the sun goes down on Friday and the Sabbath is here. This week I've been doing a lot of deep thinking.  Have you ever thought to yourself, "Why am I the way that I am?" I've been thinking a lot about this since beginning to read the book "Boundaries*" wri

Pho Fun Friday!

This post is just a regular update as to where I've been and what I've been doing the last couple of weeks.  Side note: Pho (pronounced fuh ) is a Vietnamese soup that is delicious. If you order it and you're vegetarian you must specify that you want the mushroom broth. But it's really yummy. My roommate Monica and I tend to eat it quite often. Usually on Friday's. Hence the "Pho Fun Friday!" Now, back to the update on my life. I'm currently in Hemet, CA (yup, you're going to have to Google Maps that one) working with the new Health Practicum run by SOULS West. This practicum is seriously amazing. Each student, when they get inside a home, does a small health talk covering lifestyle principles that can improve the health of the family they're talking to. At the close of the health talk, they offer the family books as tools to improve the family's spiritual and physical health. Check out the website if you have a chance: living

You seriously don't have to read every one of my posts, but they will include any of the following: - Occasional updates on random activities I enjoy - Poetry - Pictures of what I ate that morning. No, that's instagram. - Insights on life and spiritual things - Funny stories - Updates on my whereabouts - Embarrassing stories. Not mine, Brielle's. - Random analogies I have made about something - Secrets about my friends that I swore I would tell no one... j/k So feel free to stop by occasionally. I called this blog "A Little Arizona Sunshine" for two reasons. 1. Every other conceivable name was taken. Seriously?? How many people actually blog?? 2. I travel a lot but always feel that Arizona is my home. It's always sunny and warm and I like that. So everywhere I go, I hope people see a little piece of Arizona Sunshine in me along with a sunny disposition that shows that I'm a Christian. Thanks for stopping by! I'll probably post an old
