Ever had that outfit/dress/picture frame that you LOVED and could never see yourself getting rid of? I'm gonna say mine is a dress I used to absolutely love. It was brightly colored, it made me feel really fun and pretty, and it fit me nicely. Everyone complimented the dress and said what good taste I had. Some didn't though. Some said, "I think you're a lot more mature than that dress makes you look... You still look pretty, but it's a little loud..."  Haters.  But then you realize... that maybe they're right. And you're growing, and changing, and your tastes have changed now too. It's not that the dress changed. It's still the same dress. And it's not that you hate the dress anymore, you've just outgrown it.  I feel like that with people sometimes.  Hear me out -- It's not that people are bad or immature or whatever -- but sometimes, your taste and where you are in life changes. Blown away with HOPE

HOPE = Helping Other People Everywhere 4 days a year the school shuts down and does community service in the Spokane area (HOPE Taskforce day). We do everything from shelters and Ronald McDonald House to raking leaves for some neighbors. Today, there was severe winds. Gusts of 60 mph. My whole day that I've spent hours and hours and hours setting up for and planning was turned into a day of frantically fielding phone calls and trying to get our kids back safely. Because of COURSE the wind didn't get terrible until they were in town already. But here are the things I've learned as a result: 1. No matter how much work you put into something, you cannot control the weather and you have to learn to just smile and roll with the punches. 2. Even when you're stressed beyond measure and don't know how you're going to get through the day, God takes care of you.
